2015 Master 207 Study Tour

The Master 207 students visited key players in the Asian luxury market from April 30th to May 10th.

The Master 207 students participated to the the 2015 study tour in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Their program organized by Arielle Monnerot-Dumaine, their retail management professor, and Denis Darpy, the director of the master, covered all dimensions of the evolving luxury business in Asia. Topics included, duty free shopping, new consumer behaviors, pricing strategies and emerging brands.

New brands are emerging and luxury is moving in Asia to a more mature market. Meanwhile new players fit into the culture. The success of MCM is good illustration of new codes of luxury.


The group attended meetings with key speakers from DFS, Richemont, Piaget, Caudalie, Hermès and HSBC. The students discovered also emerging premium Chinese brands such as EP or ICICLE. The market is changing very rapidly in a very competitive environnement.
